THE PROBLEM

Sales were steadily declining for PN Medical. Many customers were opting for lower cost "no frills" incentive spirometers over the $39 BreatherPN Medical needed to find new ways to engage potential customers and investors with an aging product. CMO Visual had the challenge of convincing consumers that The Breather was the best product available and worth the premium price. We would be responsible for providing all the product marketing images, a one hour training video, and a one minute product sizzle video. 

 

THE SOLUTION

When we were approached by PN Medical in 2015, they wanted us to "blow away the competition" by producing imagery that would captivate and ultimately sell their product to nurses, doctors, and patients around the world. Incentive spirometers had existed for decades, yet their designs and functionality remained fundamentally the same. Through clever marketing, PN Medical hoped to become the leader in sales of incentive spirometers world wide. Mark Carbone, the CEO of PN Medical, told us that he wanted the new Breather to "look like a race car." So that's exactly what we did. We took the principles of lighting high end sports cars and applied those same concepts to The Breather. This would make The Breather the first incentive spirometer to brand itself with luxury and first class design.

To add even more value to the product, we would also create a detailed training series showcasing how to use The Breather for respiratory muscle training. No other incentive spirometer, or resistance breather comes with such an in depth guide on how to use their product. The complete training course would be used to train nurses on how administer The Breather to a patient. It would also be used by patients who want to learn respiratory muscle training from home. Anyone who purchased a breather would receive an access code that would allow them to view the videos on the PN Medical website.  

 

RESULTS

PN Medical finished launching their rebrand in 2017. The results have been extraordinary. The additional perceived value of the product has not only resulted in more sales, it also increased the profit maximizing price of The Breather, placing it in an entirely different category from its competition.  

Having the best product images and videos has made making pitches and sales easier. It has substantially increased the CTR of all their online advertisements. The Breather makes its competition look archaic by comparison.

The training video series has also been a huge success. Doctors have praised it for being "the best and most comprehensive respiratory muscle training video in the medical industry."  The training video itself has turned into a key component when selling The Breather to major hospitals.
